A new location for this blog

So, I've decided to switch over from Blogspot to Wordpress for this blog... for reasons and stuff, and mainly just to try something new and hopefully have something with better sharing functionality.

Please see the latest updates about my 101 Things project here

Homemade biscuits with a fried egg, pulled pork and gravy (#41)

Today is a snow day in NYC so Tom is working from home with me - a perfect chance to cook breakfast for him and make some progress on my list!

I have been wanting to make biscuits for awhile, and we have eggs, and we have a ton of delicious pulled pork, and we had an extra jar of gravy leftover from Thanksgiving, so it seemed to be a no-brainer. Ta-da...

January 2, 2014 - This Cab is Clean! (#32)

Tom and I grabbed one of the new green taxis home from dinner... we thought the driver may have gone a little overboard with the air-fresheners!

Hidden Objects: Mystery Crimes (#23)

Free iPhone Game - Week #1
Hidden Objects: Mystery Crimes

I downloaded this game and played for about 20 minutes before accepting how frustrating it would be to actively try and have fun with it.

The basics are pretty straight-forward - it's just a standard hidden object game with a few incidental puzzles thrown in (I had to rearrange some tiles to form a picture a couple times) and the premise is that you're a detective and the hidden objects are sometimes clues you need to solve a mystery - oooh!

There's a timer and bonuses and stuff like that and you can only access certain parts of the game if you successfully complete others - all fine, except that within about 10 minutes I was stopped from doing anything new unless I won more "stars" by replaying previous scenes, or waited for crime-solving tasks like "analyze the vial" to complete running in the background, or I could pay to get more stars and have tasks finish more quickly. No thanks.

So, I don't recommend this game unless you REALLY need to play every hidden object game out there and don't mind spending extra money for the in-app purchases you probably would have to buy in order to actually enjoy this one.

January 1, 2014 - "Really?" (#32)

In the fine tradition of many past 365 photos, this year's effort starts off with a dog photo. Foxy gets the honor of the New Year's day shot, and she's obviously thrilled.

Finish this list (#1)

So... another new year, another new project!

A week or so ago, Tom started putting together a new "101 things in 1001 days list." A lot of the things on his list will probably (hopefully!) be things we do together, or they are things I want to do too, so I got inspired to make a list of my own.

They're not in any specific order, except for #1, but they're sort of grouped by theme (mostly.) To be honest I put #1 "Finish this list" at the top just to have a good start with a completion of something on day 1, but it's a long way to September 28, 2016, so wish me luck and check back often for updates on my progress!

Check it out: Use the list on the left to jump to posts/progress on each task (and completed items will be in italics)
